Hans J Wegner studied at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts as a cabinet maker. From 1938-43, he worked as a furniture designer with Arne Jacobsen, Erik Moller, and Borge Mogensen. The Royal Society of Arts, London bestowed upon him an Honorary Royal Designers Award for Industry in 1959.
